Delaware Review List

State Bird List

The Delaware State List of Bird Species contains 427 species of birds that have been accepted for Delaware by the Delaware Bird Records Committee (DBRC) as of August 2021.

Review List

The committee reviews reports of rare birds and accepts them based on the quality of the documentation.  The committee asks for documentation of the 101 species in listed boldface.  See Bird Records Committee page for information about submitting reports.

Boldface species marked with a dagger () are birds that should be documented under certain circumstances. Two are pelagic species that are only reviewable when seen from shore, the Eurasian Collared-Dove that is only reviewable when seen outside of Selbyville, DE, and the Common Raven that is only reviewable south of the C&D Canal.

Please note the Addendum list of extralimital subspecies that are being reviewed.

Any species not on the list requires documentation.
