Cape May, Part 2: Sparrows & Late Migrants
Come join Tim Freiday on his highly anticipated second trip to Cape May to look for late migrants and sparrows!
A note from Tim:
Due to the popularity of our September Cape May Trip, we will be offering a similar trip in mid-October. This trip will focus on sparrows and other migrant birds traveling in mid-fall.
The sheer volume of migration through Cape May at this time of year can be astounding. It’s really a blast watching hundreds of Northern Flickers flying overhead! Hawk migration is in full swing at this time of year as well, with a good shot at Golden Eagle. Waterfowl begin moving in better numbers this time of year as well, and it is Cape May so you never know what will be around.
The trip will take place on Saturday October 14th, following much the same schedule as the last trip. We will meet at Higbee, and then work Cape May State Park and The Meadows. There will be a pot luck dinner at my Dad’s house in Del Haven the night before for interested parties. Space is limited, so if you are interested in participating in this trip please e-mail me to let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
