Delaware American Kestrel Project

DOS is continuing our research study of the American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) in Delaware. Our goal is to survey the current breeding and wintering Kestrel population in Delaware, identify reasons for their declining numbers here, and develop strategies to stabilize the population.

For more information or if you have any questions you may contact one of our Kestrel Project working group: Derek Stoner, Bruce Lantz (committee chair), or Sally O'Byrne. (Photo of male Kestrel by Larry Graff)

Place a marker on the map where you observed kestrel(s). To do this, center the map (crosshairs) at the desired location, and click "Add marker"; this places a mark on the map. You may drag the marker once placed, or clear it by clicking "Clear marker". The location of the map center is always shown in the text boxes above the map. The marker's location is displayed in the boxes below the map, and is where your observation will be added. If you know the coordinates of the sighting, you may enter them directly, below; click "Go" to center the map there. Then, you may "Add marker".
